Night Supervisor

Job Description:    

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out and coordinating the night shift activities on the premises. Provide efficient, prompt, and courteous service and security to all guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Night Manager and other supervisors to provide excellent service and security to guests during the night.
• Supervise and coordinate all night shift activities and responsibilities in the absence of the Night Manager
• Familiarise yourself with the daily check in sheet.
• Check in and check out guests as required and allocate rooms and issue guests with room keys.
• Ensure guest messages and mail is delivered to their rooms as well as provide guests with wake up calls.
• Respond to all guest queries and requests and assist with any arrangements guests may require.
• Prepare and check the Night Audit and prepare night safe.
• Ensure all cash is locked in the safe and ensure safe keys are locked away.
• Ensure a Fire Walk is done on a regular basis and that all fire exits are clear as well as ensuring fire extinguishers are in proper condition and Fire Logbook is updated as needed.
• Complete all relevant incident/accident forms as required.
• Liaise with maintenance team to inform them of any repairs that may need to be carried out.
• Assist the F&B team with smooth running of early breakfast in Restaurant and Bar as required.
• Ensure that health & safety regulations enforced within the department as well as emergency procedures.
• Write a comprehensive handover report for the Duty Manager following you shift and ensure verbal Passover is completed in the absence of the Night Manager.
• Ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and well-presented manner.
• Attend meeting and training sessions are required

Skills/Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar supervisor role in a 3 or 4 star hotel preferred
• Working knowledge of HotSoft or similar hotel software an advantage
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
•  Must be able to work as part of a team to achieve high standards required
• Must adhere to Health & Safety requirements
• Ability to multitask and good crisis management skills
• Valid work permit is required
